Small/Compact

Hybrids are usually large cars because small cars already have good fuel economy so the savings will not be so great and the hybrid technology tends to weigh down the small cars too much. The small hybrids that are available tend to only be mild hybrids since the equipment for these systems is much lighter than for full hybrid systems. Hybrid technology can however still offer marked fuel efficiency savings in small cars and as the hybrid systems become more advanced, lighter and smaller we can expect to see increasing numbers of the small hybrid cars.
